Our tire turned into an EGG!!

So today we had to get a new tire, but not because it went flat.....almost the opposite happened.
We recognized this bumpy feeling when we were driving earlier this week, but thought it might just be the road we were on. Well we were driving to Idaho Falls today to go shopping and the bumping was still there, I was concerned and decided we would pull of on our exit and check out the tires. Well, about 2 exits before the one we wanted this car caught up with us and pointed to the car and said "your wheel", so we pulled over immediately in case it was really dangerous to keep driving. We thought at first that maybe our hub cap fell off or something. We checked them all out and everything seemed to be ok. We said a quick prayer and got back on the road and saw that the car that told us had pulled over and started walking towards our car so we pulled over again and then they drove to us. They told us that our tire was wobbling so much they thought it was going to fall off. (which we knew it wasn't that bad) So, we pulled off the hub cap thing and Martin checked the lug nuts, none were loose, but as we were lowering the car off the jack we noticed that there was a HUGE bubble on the back side of our tire, yeah weird I know. Anyway someone else pulled over to see if we needed help (man these people in Idaho are much nicer than in Virginia) and he said he knew quite a bit about cars and that maybe our alignment was off and that caused the tire to wear wrong and cause the bubble. Well we got back on the road and I drove pretty slow til we got to Idaho Falls and we stopped at the first mechanic place and had them look at it. He said the tire was just wearing wrong and was now instead of being a circle it was an oval like an egg...YEAH WE HAD AN EGG FOR A TIRE!!!! Well he told us that the tire was the problem and once we replace that it would be fixed. Phew! It didn't cost an arm and a leg, but it did cost a good chunk of change to get a new tire. Well, we walked to Down East and looked around til they called and told us it was ready. After Martin picked it up he told us the guy that fixed it said "He has never seen a tire that bad not blow out" (maybe our prayer got us there safely).
