Really another year has past????

I really have to get better about this whole blogging once a year.

So, we have been in our house for a year now, which has flown by! We have done a lot of improvements but they have been mostly to our yard.

In September last year I was called into Young Women's as the 1st counselor and then in December I was called as the President and I LOVE YOUNG WOMEN'S!!! It will be a VERY sad day when I am released (which hopefully is very far down the road!)  I have had so much fun getting to know these girls. I very quickly gained a love for them I never thought was possible. {I could go on for hours about YW, so maybe I should move on}

Also in December, to be exact I found out the day after I accepted the calling as President in YW....We are expecting! I am due in a very short 10ish weeks {Aug. 16} We are having another girl. Still don't have our minds 100%  on a name, but we do have one that is probably going to be it.....BUT... we are telling yet. Sorry. Jade is soooo excited to be a big sister and it's so cute how she already includes "baby sister", as we call her, in everything! "Mommy, Daddy, Jade, Baby sister pray for bed?" its so stinking cute!

I babysit a few kids some full time and some part time, so I am VERY busy keeping up with the little munchkins!

We recently took Jade to the Zoo and she LOVED it. Her favorite part was the Giraffes and feeding the little birds that fly around and land on you to eat. At one point I had 5 birds on my arm. {it really made me miss my bird Petree}

I will have another update with pictures coming. {much sooner than a year I sure hope, now that we have the internet}

Hello world!!!

Well, it has been longer than awhile since I have posted. More than a WHOLE year. Wow, where has the time gone?? We haven't had the internet at home so I have been VERY disconnected.  I guess I have year to catch up on....
  All three of us are doing fabulous.
*Martin and I graduated from BYU-I in April 2011
*We moved back to VA after graduation
*I became an Auntie in Oct of 2011 to a cuter than life niece!!!
*I miss my "Ice-burg" friends TERRIBLY!!
*In the last month we bought a HOUSE!!! I can't believe it :)
*Jade is almost 2...YIKES! I can't believe my baby isn't a baby anymore. She talks us a storm and is such a copy-cat, but hey its fun to see that she is learning so much!!!
*I have made more friends in Meadowbrook, then I went and moved! but at least it's only a short drive. :)
*I haven't been coupon crazy since I don't have my coupon buddies to help me.
*We have been doing the "same old, same old" pretty much since

Until next time, (hopefully before next year, haha)

I have to just toot my own horn for one second....

Because I just started couponing like a week or so ago and I got all of this.....

2 boxes of non-fluoride toothpaste for Jade
One bottle of Pert Plus 2 in 1
3 bottles of lotion
9 bottles of Dawn dish liquid
12 boxes of Pedia Care Tylenol (infant drops)

If I paid regular price of all of the above I would have spent about $103.73 + tax.
BUT I only spent $8.
And all of this because of a sweet girl that told me about the deal with the infant tylenol!
Thank you girl at Wal-greens!!!!!!!!!!

I am thinking...HAIR CUT!

This is me today....with my lovely long locks....BUT I feel very plain.
and very old mama-ish....SO...HELP ME OUT!

I might just chicken out... but which "do" should I do again?!?!

#1- short side bangs and dark brown?

 #2 short dark long side bangs?
#3 Short MAJOR side swoop -More natural color (light-ish brown with natural-ish highlights)?

You will have to come back to see if I actually go through with it!

All of my friends live all over the country
I was only in labor with my daughter for 8 hours and 5 of that were without pain meds

I always knew I would be a mommy at the age of 24

Who knew

That 5 months would fly by so fast! We leave for Idaho in exactly one week!!! I can't believe that next week Jade will be 3 months old. She is growing up so fast. She is such a happy baby, always smiling and talking. She is starting to laugh a little. The moments are rare but we sure love them. This week we are going to be crazy busy saying last goodbyes to family, doing last minute Christmas shopping and finishing all of the packing. Jade has been a trooper with the packing, sometimes she yells at us and says "hey I want more attention" and then we stop and play. :)

Pictures of Jade...

We have been very cautious about posting pictures of her on the internet for everyone in the world to see. We have found that we trust Shutterfly with their private sites.

If you would like to see pictures and updates about our sweet Princess leave your email address as a comment and I will send you an invite with the password to our page.

Moving on....

Well, the internship phase of our lives is coming to and end. We have about 25 days left in VA then we are heading back to Idaho for our last semester as college students. *tear* I love college! I love all the friends we have made out there and the special spirit that is in Rexburg. Having the temple 2 blocks away is amazing. The walks, *sigh* it is so nice to be able to walk all around Rexburg and feel safe, a lot safer than Richmond and surrounding areas.

The past 4 months have flown by and we are already talking about what to pack for Idaho and what to leave here. We still have to figure out who we are staying with in Denver and what to do about stopping in Provo.

I am excited!

Jade,

I love....
*the way you smile when you are put down on the changing table
*the way you say "waaah" when you are super tired and your pacifier falls out of your mouth
*the way you softly whine for a minute and then you let me know you mean business when I haven't said anything
*the way you breath so fast when you know you are about to eat
*the way you open your mouth and shake your head so fast when you are trying to eat
*the way you hold your face when you are eating
*the way you hold your head back every time I burp you, even though it makes it harder
*the way you can put yourself to sleep 50% of the time!!
*the way you smile at daddy when he is talking to you
*the way you like talking to us
*how sometimes you just need to lay down in your bed and have mommy hold your hands to fall asleep
*how you get really quiet when daddy does his braves theme song thing
*the way you cry when you are hungry, "wah, wah wah" it's almost like you are trying to say water instead of crying
*that you like the music your mirror plays in the car, some times its a life saver
*the way you love to snuggle and sleep on mommys chest, even though I am making it a bad habit because you dont take long naps in your bed. (but thank goodness you sleep good at night)

I DONT love....
HOW FAST YOU ARE GROWING UP!

Love,
Mommy

Mommy moment

Today I was holding Jade and she grabbed my thumb and squeezed really tight. As I looked down at her and we made eye contact I had the words "please take care of me mommy" run through my mind. I got teary eyed and told her I would always take care of her the best I knew how. I just love being a mom.

Changes...

 Here are 15 changes that happen when you have a baby {from babycenter.com}

As I read these I realized how true they were.

1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms.

2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.

3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.

4. You respect your body ... finally.

5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.

6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own. {SO TRUE!! I cry when she does sometimes because I don't want her tummy to hurt}

7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.

8. You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have banished years ago.

9. Your heart breaks much more easily.

10. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.{or more}

11. Every day is a surprise.  {YES!}

12. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you.
13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.

14. You become a morning person. {morning, noon and night person to be more honest}

15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.

I absolutely love being a mom!!!

Serenity Jade

I just realized that I have been venting on here and haven't shared all of the good news that everyone is dying to hear. Jade was born Sept 27, 2010 at 11:28 a.m. She weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and is 20 inches long. She was and is the most beautiful baby I had ever seen. I cried the second I saw her and cried the whole time I held her as they were cleaning her off. Martin cut the cord and took lots of pictures. {If I was a labor and delivery nurse I would cry every time a baby is born...it's just a cool thing to see/experience}

Labor and delivery was a breeze compared to what I was preparing myself for. Yes, I did get an epidural so I didn't go all NAT-UR-AL but who cares cause I wasn't in pain. :) Total labor time: 8 hours from the first (real) contraction until she was born. I pushed for about 30 minutes.

Maybe when I have time I will post the whole story if anyone is interested. :) But for now Jade says it's almost time to eat!

Note to self.....

Dear body,
I have come up with a plan, so listen carefully. I am going to finish this english paper and the moment I do I am going to go into labor and have this little princess. If you do not agree and refuse to cooperate, you will have to call my complaint department at 1-800-DONT-MESS-WITH-A-PREGNANT-LADY. {In the event that you win this battle and I do not have my princess for several more days, then so be it, but don't expect me to be your best friend again until she comes.}
Thank you for your time and hopefully your cooperation,
Trish

Vent/ emotions. Feel free to not read.

As I sat here in my glider trying to do homework, I heard a familiar song coming from my brother-in-laws room across the hall. Before the first word was sung I had tears in my eyes and at first I wasn't sure why. But very quickly all of these thoughts flooded me.
My thought process was something along the lines of...
*I miss my "home" in Idaho.
*I miss the many friends I had grown so close to.
*I miss the cool breeze.
*I miss the mountains.
*I miss the ward activities.
*I miss the complex cookouts.
*I miss having the windows open all day long.
*I miss having a place to walk outside.
*I miss playing with 20 {or more} kids in my preschool class 3 days a week.
*I miss the fact that "going out" or "getting away from home" meant walking around Wal-mart or spending $1 or so for a pretzel with my hubby.
*I miss seeing Martin throughout the day between classes even if it is only for an hour.
*I miss being around people my age and in the same situation as me.
*I miss being in the Rexburg bubble.
 ...

Now, don't get me wrong. I LOVE being home in Virginia with family {and that is what I really wanted}, but I sure do miss the way my life was for 2 whole years. I think that I am feeling on a very tiny scale what a missionary feels when they come home from their missions. out of place, unorganized, lonely (friendship wise). You might be thinking "oh Trish, get over yourself it's just the pregnancy hormones sending you on an emotional roller coaster. I mean you are going to have a baby in 2 weeks and that is a HUGE life changing experience." BUT, to that I would say.... does it really have anything to do with being pregnant?? How would you feel if you lived your life a certain way for 2 years and then all of a sudden EVERYTHING you know is different? You come to a place where you have family, but no friends the same age or even close to the same situation as you. You sit at a computer all day long trying to bust your butt to get through this one online class and you have very little to no interaction with another human being for hours on end.

The nursery/our room

Today was an eventful day! We moved around some furniture in our bedroom so that we could figure out where to put the bassinet. This afternoon my mom and sister came over and helped me set up all of Jade's stuff and fold all of her clothes that I washed. I washed two full loads of baby clothes, sleepers, blankets, towels, etc!! {and I think we still need to pick up a few more outfits because one of the loads was bigger clothes}

This is the diaper changing area and her 3 dresser drawers.

This is her sleeping corner.

We still have to pick up some things that we didn't get at the shower, but for now we are about 90% ready for her. :)

Oh Baby Girl!

We only have about a month and a half until our sweet girl comes into the world. I have been trying to figure out health insurance for her and I still need to find a pediatrician. I am having a shower this Saturday and I am really excited. After the shower we will have to figure out what we still need to get for her. I can't wait to set up all of her stuff in our room. She is getting bigger in my belly. I can feel her roll all the time and now I am getting feet in my side. She likes to lay sideways, I just hope she drops on her own when the time comes and that everything else works out. Tonight we are going on a tour of the hospital and the second half of the labor basics class.

We made it.

Well, we made it safely to VA and we are starting to get settled in our room. We are staying with Martin's family. I have just started going through the baby stuff that we have now trying to figure out what I need to register for and still get after my baby shower. I want to set up the bedroom and get ready for Jade already, but we still have some sorting to do. I am so excited to wash all of her clothes and set up the "nursery" {her half of the bedroom}. I will be sure to post pictures once we finish it. But for now we are enjoying being with family.

My hardworking man.

Martin gets so exhausted from this internship. He works an average of about 8-10 hour days everyday of the week in the hot sun. {Poor guy} He is super tan, well, he has a super good farmers tan. Hehe. Let's just say he is excited to go to the beach so he can complete his tan.

These pictures are of a pair of his gloves after about 2 months of working.

You can see the huge wholes but to give it the real effect I put it on to show you that it really doesn't cover your hand at all.

Well, as of now I have one more class to attend in about an hour and Martin has today and tomorrow to work. We are hopefully going to be leaving Rexburg this Saturday, but it depends on how hard we work at night and how fast we {I mean Martin} can clean since I can't use heavy cleaners. Poor guy, I am not much help being 7 months prego with packing or cleaning. He is going to be tired.

I never thought the day would come when....

I say good-bye to the Clarke building. This is the building where 99% of my classes have been since I started school here. I will miss walking in right next to the playgrounds.

It is my second home, and will be missed.

I will miss the people from the Clarke the most.
Here are some pictures of the supervisors I worked with this semester and our teacher Bro. G!

I love this picture because it shows all of our personalities. :)
Amanda - the silly one, Me - the random faces, Brother Godfrey - always up to something, Melissa- watching and laughing at the others, and Elizabeth- the calm and normal one :)

Me-"look like Brother Godfrey" I guess he was worried about what I meant cause he had to look at what I was doing.

This is the most normal picture we could get.

The "FUN" supervisors. :)

6 down, 3 to go!

3 months from today is my due date!!! I can't believe that this pregnancy is going by so quickly.

Belly Update...

26 Weeks tomorrow. {almost to the 3rd trimester!!}

They aren't the best pictures of me. I don't have on make up or cute clothes, BUT I sure am proud of my big round tummy!

99 Days to go!!

I can't believe that I only have 99 days left to be prego, well at least until my due date. {and of course that does depend on when Jade decides to show up, she could be a few days early or a few days late.}

Monday, June 21, 2010

Semester, baby, and then some....

There are only 5 more weeks left in this semester!! I can't wait til it is over. I have been in school for 6 straight semesters and working my butt of the last 3 in preschool practicums. {which have been so fun and great, but it is like a full time job and a half!}

The latest with our precious girl....
We went to the doctor on Saturday and I have gained a total of 13 pounds...YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) I am proudly at 143 lbs. {according to the doctor scale} Jade should be at about 1.5 pounds now and her heartbeat sounded good. Next time I go I have to drink this really sweet drink so they can test me for gestational diabetes....hopefully I wont have it. She is a wiggle worm, but I don't mind in the slightest. Sometimes I even lay down for a minute just to take a break and feel her kick. It has been so cool to see my belly grow and the best part is now we can see her kicks from the outside. It is a hoot to see my tummy do the wave and move around like I have jumping beans in there. I can't believe that I am already 25 weeks {tomorrow} and that in about 3 1/2 months Martin and I will be parents and not just parents-to-be!!!

I have officially graduated to maternity pants, nothing else fits anymore, not even my "big pants". I can still fit in most of my regular shirts but it looks like I am hiding a basketball in there. :)

Father's Day - We pretty much celebrated all weekend. Friday I came home early from campus to surprise Martin with his favorite dinner. {Alfredo and garlic knots} It worked out great! I was so worried that he would smell the bread when he got home, but he didn't, I guess having the windows and door open really did help. That night we went out and rented the new Alice in Wonderland movie and it was pretty good. Saturday we went to the Dr. and got good news about me and our little princess and then we waited for our friends {Ryan and Ashley} to get done with their Dr apt {they found out they are having a boy} and then we were off to Yellowstone for the rest of the day. We had a lot of fun at Yellowstone and even got to see a wild grizzly bear pretty close. :) On Sunday we got up went to church and then came home took a nap and went over to our friends for a wonderful steak dinner.{we did this with us too. it was our way of celebrating when we found out the gender of our babies} Ashley and I made 3 different deserts for the wonder daddy-to-be's and played games til 11:00.

So that is the latest, I will have belly pictures soon. :)

Our little princess....

Yesterday we went to the doctor and had our 20 week ultrasound. Here is a profile picture of our little girl. :) Isn't she cute!??

Look at her little foot! (you can even see the toes!!)

Well, everything went great. We saw the 4 chambers of her heart, all her arms and legs, complete with fingers and toes and a bunch of other really important organs. She liked playing peek-a-boo with her hands. She even kept putting her nose in the ultrasound when we were looking at her heart. :) What a cute little girl.

After the doctor and the phone calls to our parents and siblings we went to Wal-mart to buy her Disney Princess baby book and this cute onesie.

I can't wait for my very first baby shower in 2 weeks.

Well, that's all for now.
Tomorrow starts another busy week. {sigh} BUT we will be done in about 2 months and moving home for awhile.

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Half way!!

140 days down, 140 days to go {if the baby stays in that long}

I can't believe that I am 20 weeks prego today!!
Only days til we find out the gender. Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Gotta love it...

This is what I see after I finish doing my homework.

Poor guy gets so worn out from this internship. It is so physically demanding. He is so cute, I just had to take a picture!

I love my handsome, hard working, husband that occasionally sleeps under tables. :) hehe

Quick update before I shower and run off to classes all day...

I have been feeling the baby move almost everyday for a while now {maybe a week or so} It is so fun!! The kicks aren't hard enough for Martin to feel yet, but the ones I felt this morning at 5:15 am seemed to be a little harder so hopefully our little one is gaining muscle and getting stronger.

We find out a week from this Saturday {9 days, not counting today} if we are having a prince charming or a princess. :) We can't wait!! We both thought boy for the first trimester, but now I am confused with all the baby dreams I have had. One month it's a baby boy that I am holding and then the next it's a baby girl {this was just a few days ago}. WHO KNOWS!

Well here is my baby bump at 19 weeks.

Lots of clothes are getting really snug and I can only button one pair of regular jeans. I sure hope that I start packing on the pounds for this little one.

Lifehouse's Everything Skit

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

One day I might think this is funny. (venting about the afternoon)

So today I had to walk all around town {I am not exaggerating} to fill out paperwork for this job that I am doing. (I start walking at 1:45 p.m.) First I had to walk to the special services building... 1.18 miles. Not bad. The only complaint I had was to use the bathroom which I did. Then off to the district office. Add 1.08 miles to the first 1.18. At this point I am really tired. But hey I was about half way done with all of my paperwork! They give me papers and tell me that I have to go to the police station to be finger printed (this is a job with the local school district so it's mandatory). When I leave this place I make it half way to the police station and feel really weak so I stop at the public library and fill out the paper work they gave me at the district office. (side note: in that paper work was the card I will be finger printed on and there was a sheet telling me how to fill it out, so I fill out that sheet - bad news for that coming up) So I start feeling better and walk the rest of the way to the police station which is .85 miles. I get to the police station at 4:01 p.m. I tell the lady at the desk that I need to be fingerprinted and put my card on the counter. She says "first of all we stop fingerprinting at 4:00 and we cant use your card because you wrote on it." I leave in tears, no not just tears running down my cheeks, I am hysterically crying! So I think to myself "I bet this looks good, walking out of the police station crying like a maniac." So I decide "that's it! I am going home" Then reality sets in, I can't go home yet I have to go back to the district office and get a new card that is not written on because the only time this week I can get this stuff done is Thursday and I wont have time to do all of this walking again. So I take the .85 mile walk back to the district office. I get there, cars still parked outside. I think well good at least I will have the new card and it wont be such a pain on Thursday. WRONG. The flipping door says they closed at 4:00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just calmed myself down from hysterics... and it's back again. Only this time I take off my 10 pound (not kidding) book bag {did I even mention the whole time I am wearing this on my back???} and I sit against the building with my head in my hands and just cry for about hmm, 10 minutes. Then I realize I have to pee and my nose is running like Niagra Falls. So I decide to go to the store right next door (KMart) and use their bathroom. Right next to KMart was Dollar Tree. I thought to myself I need to go to the store tonight and I am right beside it now so I figured I'll just pick up what I need and by then Martin should be off work and he can come pick me up. (I am now more than 2 miles from our apartment.) I do my shopping and push my bag around in the cart so my back doesn't snap in half. I call Martin at 5:00 (when he usually gets of work) and no answer. (Now none of this is his fault by any means so don't think that. I know he got stuck at work and that is ok.) So, I decide that I can't sit at dollar tree and wait til he gets off work, so I start heading home. I make it back to campus which was about 1.97 miles from Dollar Tree. I get here at 5:45 and Martin calls, he is stuck at work for awhile longer until they finish. (again, not his fault.)So I tell him that I will wait at the Clarke building for him to get off. And after I get off the phone with him hysterics hit again so I rush to the bathroom. Here I am typing this in the work room. and it is 6:23 p.m. So I can honestly say that I wanted to rip off someone's head and cry all over it today.

By the way my total trip on foot, with a sore back, carrying a 10 pound book bag was according to Yahoo Maps....5.929 miles long. And yes you better believe I looked up the exact mileage so I could vent about it!!!!! (and on Yahoo it said that the whole trips driving time would have been 20 minutes. What a pain in the butt!)

More venting news - during the miserable walk my stomach started cramping and made me really scared, but I seem to be doing fine now.

So, the good news from this story. I get to borrow my friends car on Thursday to do all of this again while my dear Martin is at work with our car. Ashley, seriously you saved my life! If I had to do this whole thing again on Thursday I might have just laid down on the train tracks and just waited.

So long story short, today was my worst break down ever!

First picture to the world.

So it is not the best picture of me, but look at that growing tummy!!!!!! We are so excited. For people who don't know I still look like I am having too many donuts, but for Martin and I it's more like "Holy cow, baby bump!" haha Definitely more pictures to come as I continue to grow.

This is 17 weeks. (4 months)

We find out May 22 if it's a boy or girl. What do you think we will have??

INTERNSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Martin went today to meet this guy that he talked to on the phone and worked for him for a few hours and....TAH DAH! Martin starts full time on Monday 7 a.m.- ???(it depends each day when he gets off) and he is getting paid $10/hour!!! I can't believe it. We feel so blessed that he is getting an internship done, but to get a good paying one is amazing especially since we have lots of medical bills coming in the next 6 months. It's amazing how this very hard decision to stay in Rexburg for the summer is turning out to be such a great blessing.

We made it through winter semester!!

We got our grades yesterday. Martin got all A's and I got 4 A's, 1 A- and 1 B+. Yay us! This semester was so hard and we made it out alive. I was taking 15 credits with some of my hardest classes and the toughest semester in preschool because I taught 7 times and was so busy with lesson plans. I don't really have anything to show other than the fact that I got an A in preschool. :)
Martin's hardest part was the picture below...

He had to draw the Rexburg Temple by hand for his final project. It took him 50+ hours from start to finish. He was gone all day most days and he stayed up late at night and even worked on Saturdays. He got a really good grade on the project.

We framed the final picture and hung it in our living room. This is the finished Temple.

Martin finished his finals last Thursday morning and we decided that we were going to go to Provo that afternoon. On the way we took this picture of the sunset behind the mountains.

We had a blast at Jirik and Caitlin's. We played lots of board games and we even brought a few home. I bought a pair of capris from Motherhood Maternity. (I am wearing them right now actually!!) I am not showing too much, if you didn't know that I was pregnant you would probably think that I am just eating too many donuts.
This was taken in Easter Sunday. I was almost 14 weeks. (ignore the fact that I don't have make-up on or my hair fixed)

P.s. We find out in about 4 weeks what we are having!!!! I can't wait. I keep having dreams that it is a boy, but who knows.

Saturday, March 20, 2010

Finally after weeks of holding it in....

WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!

We went to the doctor again yesterday and we are 11 1/2 weeks along. We got to hear the little one's heartbeat again. What a wonderful sound!!

We are due October 5.
I am not showing, but you better believe when I start to I will post pictures!!!

I have been SOOO sick. I lost some weight and my neighbors are troopers cause they can hear every time I throw up cause our walls are so thin. Most of the time I toss and turn all night cause I can't get comfortable, but as soon as I buy one of those heavenly pillows I have heard so much about I should be able to sleep.

Martin has been amazing. When I am laying on the couch miserable he makes me dinner and gets me water and all that cute stuff.

He puts up with my moodiness and my crazy nose that doesn't like any smells.

One thing that I am so excited about is one on my best friends Rochelle is prego too and she is just a few weeks behind me and Martin's cousin is prego and she is a few weeks ahead of me. I love having friends and family prego with me so I can go through it with someone. :)

It's been a long time

Wow! I can't believe that it has been over a month since my last post. I used to post like 5 times a week and now if I get one a month I am lucky. I don't have pictures from lately to show because honestly our fun nights are playing board games or watching a movie. Other than that we are glued to the book and computers every other second of our lives.

Next week on the 11th Martin and I will be celebrating 2 1/2 years of marriage. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!! It has gone by SO fast. I was thinking about it the other day with him and we figured out that we have known each other for almost 5 years! And my next comment to him was "Man we are getting old!" ha!

Other than school we don't really have social lives and it's mostly (99.999%) my fault because I like to sit around and do absolutely NOTHING when I have time to.

Other exciting news... We might be moving home to VA for the summer if we can't find an internship for Martin because it would be so much cheaper and we could be around family. :)

Oh, we went a saw New Moon last week... AMAZING! I like it better than Twilight and I am totally team Jacob now. :)

Well, I have procrastinated enough and need to get back to writing lesson plans and other projects.

Pre-Christmas party-ing!

We went to the Live Nativity at the Richmond Zoo (it is owned by members and it's so much fun to see every year).
This is me and Julianna (Martin's little sister) wrapped like a "burrito" - at least that's what we called ourselves- waiting in line for the tram to come pick us up for the show.

Martin and Andrew hanging in the car. I was playing with the camera and figured out how to do the accent thing. :)

Me and Andrew (my brother) hanging out.

Martin and I (attempting) to play Dance Dance Revolution. We "failed" two times. Apparently I am not a good dancer when I use just my feet.

A few pictures from G &G's (as michael would write it-haha)
Martin's Grandparents house- Christmas Eve:

Here is "the craziness" as I call it.

A little delayed

So we were trying to leave Rexburg yesterday so that we could hang out with Jirik and Caitlin for a few days before we fly home. We wanted to be out of Rexburg by 1:30, so we went to fill up the gas tank and put some air in a tire that was a little low. Well, it turns out that the tire had a screw in it. Yea, not a nail, a screw..? weird. Well after about 45 minutes in the cold with freezing finger tips we pulled out the screw and plugged the whole. I was going to get a picture but I was helping and didn't get a chance. I sure do love my husband, he can make the world all better when it starts to fall apart. So that was our first delay.... bring on another one. I read to day that richmond has 5 inches in some places and 10 in other. HOLY COW that is like a blizzard for Virginia, but a normal day for Idaho. Hopefully we wont have any delays with flying. I know here in Utah we probably wont have any delays because there isn't much snow on the ground which is a relief since last year it was blizzarding when we drove down to fly home.

I will probably update sometime while we are in Virginia.
Merry Christmas everyone!!

Thanksgiving and then some.

THANKSGIVING....
I got up at 8 a.m. the day before thanksgiving to cook. We went to our ward party on thanskgiving day, but we want to have our first thanksgiving together as a couple. :)

The messy kitchen behind me.

The "cute" couple. (hehe)

Our super cute turkey platter that we bought last year in provo.

The turkey was almost done.

I had fun pulling off the meat. :)

Dinner was great!!!

The day after thanksgiving we put up our Christmas tree!! (its 4 feet tall, but it fits perfect in our whole in the wall apartment)

LATELY...
I don't have many pictures from "lately". The semester is coming to an end. Finals are next week. (sigh, are they over yet?) Preschool ended for me this past wednesday and I was really sad because I loved all the kids that we had and I am going to miss all of teachers I was with.
Here are a few pictures of the teachers I was with. I would love to put up pictures of the children but I think that I am not supposed to make those public.

(left to right:Keree, Meredith, Kelli, Samantha, Me, Michelle)

Here is another cute one. :)

(yep, we are all pretty much goof-nerds (just made that up. haha) but you have to be when you work with 3-5 year olds all the time. :)

Martin's update: He is staying busy studying for tests and then finals. This semester has kept him SO busy!! He has 4 finals to take next week, poor guy. He spends so much time at study groups so that he can do really well in all his classes.

I just took this picture about 2 minutes ago. This is Martin studying on the phone after getting home from a 3 hour study group. That is dedication!!! If it was me I would come home after 3 hours of studying and say I don't want to do anything for school for the rest of the day.

He has been such a great support to me this semester while I was in the preschool labs. He would come in to help me and the other teachers set up for our days and he would stay and watch in the observation booth so that he could see me teach. :) And I am a really good preschool teacher according to my supervisor, my teacher and Martin. :)

YESTERDAY...

Yesterday I made applesauce muffins with the homemade applesauce I made. They turned out so good. I got the recipe from one of the preschool lessons taught this semester. Thanks Michelle!!

Christmas update: 9 days til we are in Virginia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
