Students claim top construction competition honors
Brigham Young University and BYU-Idaho each took home a first-place trophy from the National Association of Homebuilders' annual Residential Construction Management Competition. The awards were handed out Jan. 21 in Las Vegas as part of the International Builders' Show. BYU claimed top honors out of 39 teams in the four-year university division, and BYU-Idaho won first place in the two-year college classification that included 16 schools.
The BYU team consisted of Jonathan Hastings, Cody Andreason, Cody Allen, Chris Leavitt, Joseph Layne and Russell Van Wagenen, and was coached by professor John Capt. Professor Pat Huish mentored the BYU-Idaho contingent that included students Martin Hynst, Ryan Tanzie, Jared Hess, Kate Foster and Dallin Olaveson.
